Cette maladie du maltage était connue sous le nom de « monkey shoulder », l’épaule du singe. C’est en hommage à ces maltmen que la famille Grant’s propriétaire de la distillerie emblématique Glenfiddich, a créé ce « triple malt » élaboré à partir de l’assemblage de trois single malts (Glenfiddich, Balvenie et Kininvie) aux arômes de miel, de cannelle et de vanille.
